A self-drive or motorcycle self-guided road trip is possibly the best way to travel. The roads are good and it is very straightforward.

CIRCUIT FROM LAS VEGAS
Las Vegas sits in the middle of the Nevada desert and is perfectly placed to visit some of North America’s most famous national parks. The Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park and Monument Valley are all easily accessible and will give you a taster of the deserts of the Wild West combined with the glitz of Las Vegas.
Route 66
has been immortalised in music, literature and on screen. Journey through history following a route that represented freedom and adventure. The original Mother Road ran from Chicago to Los Angeles, but the final section from Flagstaff to Los Angeles will give you a taster of a road that epitomized the American Dream.
SAN FRANCISCO TO LA
Spend a few days in beautiful San Francisco then pick up your hire vehicle and follow the sweeping curves of Highway 1 as it hugs the rugged Pacific Coast for around 400 miles. With a big blue Californian sky and a turquoise ocean as far as the eye can see this is the ultimate North American coastal road trip. From LA you can link up to Route 66.
FLORIDA
The theme parks and beaches of Florida are a firm favourite with UK visitors. Combine a week visiting Orlando’s Walt Disney and Universal Resorts with an exploration of The Everglades National Park, the largest subtropical wilderness in the USA, followed by time out relaxing on Florida's sun-drenched beaches.
A MusicAL Trail of the south: NEW ORLEANS TO NASHVILLE
Music lovers will be in their element in the Deep South on a journey through America's cultural and musical heritage. Starting in the late night jazz clubs of New Orleans follow the story of the Delta Bluesmen along the Mississippi Delta. In Memphis visit Sun Records and Graceland, and then head to Nashville the home of country music and known to all as ‘Music City’.
NEW ENGLAND
New England in the fall has to be one of the world’s finest natural displays. Enjoy the extravaganza of colour lining the roads of the White Mountains and the Green Mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont. Absorb the splendour of Niagara Falls and the dramatic coastline around Cape Cod, and explore the historic city of Boston before heading north into Maine.
ALASKA and Canada
Head north to Alaska and Canada for wilderness, wildlife and wide-open spaces. Huge mountain ranges and snow-capped peaks are often visible from the road. Travel through the Canadian Rockies, perhaps taking the scenic Rocky Mountaineer Train? Head to the famous Yukon and Klondike rivers, scene of the last great gold rush. Tour wild and remote Nova Scotia, taking a whale watching cruise from the Bay of Fundy.
